Roses

Roses add tremenduously to an English garden, whether planting as specimens or within herbaceous borders. These amazing plants are extremely varied, providing  a wealth of different flowers, leaves, stems and hips, giving so much colour and form to a garden from spring through to autumn and even winter.

Every year the nursery stocks a selection of choice shrub and climbing roses, offering a variety of characteristics and perfumes.  We do not grow our own roses, but buy bare root specimens in the late Autumn which are then potted and grown on at the nursery. Each year our rose list changes to some degree as we enjoy sampling and selling the great diversity of roses.

Our roses are supplied by a local grower, Trevor White Old Fashioned Roses, an excellent wholesale rose grower based in Felthorpe, north of Norwich.  Trevor and Vanessa White love and grow a number of older roses, which possess a style and presence quite distinct from modern bush varieties. However, they also offer some of the most interesting and garden worthy recent developments.

During 2010, most of our roses, grown in large deep pots, will be priced at £8.50 apart from Rosa mutabilis at £9.95
