Plants are living organisms with specific requirements to sustain their health. Once plants have left our nursery we clearly have no control over how the plants are cared for. Due to the negative impact of Brexit we are no longer able to ship to Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the EU.
As the UK is no longer part of the EU plant health system all shipments to outside the UK require:
- A phytosanitary certificate - this entails that each and every parcel must be examined by a DEFRA plant health inspector, currently charged at £62.50 per 15 minutes or part thereof;
- prior and fully documented notification to the importing country's plant health authority;
- additionally, couriers may ask for insurance or other guarantees against delays at international borders.
