Highly desireable large shrub or small tree, pretty much guaranteed to be the THE talking point in the garden when it comes into flower, bearing a mass of flowers, each carrying large pure white bracts, which elegantly fade to pink. Cornus kousa 'Teutonia' produces edible red fruits in the autumn, although these are actually pretty unexciting to eat, and we would be fibbing if we claimed that was a stand out feature of this lovely plant! However, what is definitelky true is that the season will with a fanfare of flaming red foliage.

Cornus kousa 'Teutonia' is of course fully hardy and will enjoy moist and fertile soils - a generous dollop of well totted manure in the winter would go down a treat, improving the conditions in the root zone. Height will be in the region of 2-3m so easily accommodated in really quite small gardens. Usual height in our climate is 2-3 meters as it spreads to sides rather than height. It forms horizontal branches, which make this small tree an ideal specimen growing on its own.

You could keep 'Teutonia' in a pot, but please keep it well watered and fed (i.e. weekly) throughout the summer.
