Charmingly attractive woodland anemone bearing delicate buttercup-like yellow flowers in spring, typically between March and May. A spreading, rhizomatous perennial with finely diivided leaves. Grows wild that grows in forests across most of Europe, prefering damp and dappled shade. During summer time the plant becomes dormant, dying back to small woody rhizomes which lie just below the soil surface.
Propagation is best carried out by gently teasing apart the dowmant rhizomes and replanting, or potting up.
Anemone ranunculoides is fully hardy. Height is between 5 and 10cm whilst spread is more or less unlimited underfavourable conditions..
