One of the best epimediums, with a boldly coloured and long-lasting flowering: pendant orange-amber flowers with lemon spurs hang elicately from tall wiry stems. Epimedium 'Amber Queen' is a fully hardy rhizomatous perennial suitable for a cool shady spot preferably in a soil that cool, moist and rich in organic matter. Planting beneath the canopy of deciduous trees will provide the annual layer of leaf litter that earth worms and so will dran down in to the soil to creat perfect conditions.

Although Epimedium 'Amber Queen' is evergreen and can therefore provided year round ground cover we tend to clip old foliage off the plants we sell in pots in order to show off the beautiful spring flowering to the fullest. However, if getting down on your knees each February to trim off last years leaves seems just a task too far, fear not! Amber Queen carries its flowers on tall stems and these will emerge above the foliage for you to enjoy. Height of the flowers will be a bout 30cm
