Forms a dense rosette of grey-green leaves from which emerge panicles of mauve-centred white flowers during summer. Verbascum chaixii 'Album' is very popular with bees. Plant in full sun or light shade on a decent garden soil. This plant seeds freely so although strictly speaking you could describe it as a 'short-lived perennial', in practice it it will become a permanent resident in the garden as it successfully sets seeds each year and reliably produces a crop of youngsters to join the throng. Fully hardy. H:90cm. Good for naturalising.
