A recent introduction and bred with crab apple jelly making in mind. Masses of pure white blossom in spring (great for bees), followed by unusually large fruits, flushed orange, pink and red. Plant in full sun and in fertile, moist and well drained soil. Fully hardy. Height on the MM106 rootstock will be about 3.5m, so ideal for smaller gardens.
Jelly made from Malus 'Jelly King' fruit ha not only a lovely flavour but also a very pretty pink colour. If you don't know how to make jelly, follow this link for a recipe - it's easy!
And if you don't fancy all the bother in the kitchen, it still makes a delightful ornamental tree that will feed the birds in winter.
