A most attractive crab apple, not especially well known but very garden-worth. Malus ' okum' produces a massive flowering of soft pink, lightly fragrant blossom in spring. The foliage emerges purplish-red but matures to a bronzy-green in summer. Late summer and autumn will see a generous crop of small red or purple crab apples The fruits keep well in to the winter when that will be a tasty treat for hungry birds such as blackbirds, thrushes and fieldfares.
Plant Malus 'Mokum' in full sun and in moist,fertile soils, although light shade is fine as well. Fully hardy and easy to grow, Final height: about 4m
