Top choice for a smaller garden, Malus 'Rosehip' not only produces masses of very pretty white blossom which will bring in masses of nectar-hungry bees, emerging from pink buds, but goes on to bear gernerous crops of glossy, bright red cab apples (that have a pronounced calyx, bearing a remarkable resemblence to rose hips) in late summer and autumn - good for cooking or leave for the birds.
Plant Malus 'Rosehip' in full sun and moist, fertile soil - although dappled shade will be readily tolerated. Fully hardy and easy to grow. Final height: about 4m
