A rare and much sought after variety of flowering quince. Flowers open pale lemony-lime and fade to white.

Chaenomeles x superba 'Lemon and Lime is a medium sized shrub, which can be usefuly trained to scramble up a wall or, alternatively, can be grwon as a specimen shrub, especially where there is sufficient space for its branching and spreading habit to be fully expressed . 'Lemon and Lime', in coomon with other Japanese flowering quinces enjoys either partial shade or full sun and a reasonably fertile, moist but well drained soil. Height and spread will be in the order of 2m

Flowers occur on one and two year old wood, so pruning, which should be done after flowering, should be carried out with that in mind. In other words, a really hard cut back will result in a sparser flowering the following year, and in general pruning should be limited to a light trim to keep a neat shape
