Native of the north-western Himalaya. Flowering from the end of June, until the end of September, with delicate sprays of short-stalked, rose-purple pea-shaped flowers, with as many as two dozen or more on each raceme. Indigofera also has foliage of great beauty and luxuriance and is one of the most ornamental of late-flowering shrubs. Indigofera heterantha enjoys abundant sunshine, so plant against a south-facing wall. A severe winter will probably cut the plant down but invariably they grow back each year with re-newed vigor. Heith will be in the region of 1-2m
