Very elegant, dainty, spreading tree suitable for a small garden. Exquisite, single, shell pink, hanging, cup shaped flowers, emerging from darker pink buds, occur in late spring, typically mid-April, fading to a lighter shade of pink. Raised by Hilliers nursery as seedling of Prunus x yedoensis and named by them in 1969. The green leaves turn a lovely orange in the Autumn.
Plant in full sun in moist, fertile soil. Dig in well rotted manure when planting and mulching with well rotted manure in winter will help a young tree establish rapidly. H: 8m.
